Smoky BBQ Chicken Wings with Guinness Glaze
These sticky, finger-licking wings are always a crowd-pleaser – and the Guinness gives them a rich, deep flavour that’s next-level.
What you’ll need:

1kg chicken wings

Salt and pepper
-
Smoked paprika
-
Garlic powder
-
1 bottle of Guinness
-
BBQ sauce (about 100ml)

Brown sugar
-
Soy sauce
How to make them:

Preheat your grill or oven to 200°C (fan).

Season the wings with salt, pepper, smoked paprika and garlic powder.

Bake or grill until crispy, turning halfway through.

While the wings cook, pour the Guinness into a saucepan and simmer to reduce slightly.

Stir in BBQ sauce, brown sugar and soy sauce, and let it bubble away until thickened.

Toss the cooked wings in the glaze and pop them back on the grill or in the oven for a few more minutes to caramelise.

Serve hot, sticky and with plenty of napkins.
Crispy Sweet Potato Fries with Garlic Mayo
A Bailie favourite, now easy to enjoy at home in the back garden.
What you’ll need:

2 large sweet potatoes

Cornflour
-
Olive oil
-
Salt
For the garlic mayo:
-
Mayonnaise
-
Crushed garlic
-
A squeeze of lemon juice
How to make them:

Slice the sweet potatoes into thin fries. If you have time, soak them in cold water for 30 minutes – it helps them crisp up.

Pat dry, then toss with cornflour and a drizzle of olive oil.

Spread out on a tray (no overlapping) and roast at 220°C until golden and crisp.

While they cook, stir together mayo, garlic and lemon juice for a simple dip.

Serve hot with the garlic mayo on the side.
DIY Strawberry Gin Fizz
Fresh, light and inspired by our summer cocktail menu.
What you’ll need (per glass):

Gin

Strawberries
-
Lime juice
-
Tonic water or soda water
-
Ice
-
Fresh mint (optional)
How to make it:

Muddle the strawberries in a glass.
-
Add the gin and lime juice, then fill with ice.

Top with tonic or soda water and stir gently.
-
Garnish with mint if you have it and enjoy.
